Nagykőrös has been twinned with the French town of Le Muy since 1996. The French party was the initiator of the partnership, László Szalay, a resident of Le Muy of Hungarian origin, who came from Nagykőrös. To achieve this goal, the Mayor of the town of Le Muy prepared the text of the friendship agreement and handed it over to the French delegate, the Deputy Mayor, on his visit to Le Muy on 20 August 1996. The agreement was signed on 26 October 1996 during the visit of the delegate from Nagykőrös, led by István Kósa, Mayor of Nagykőrös. In the summer of 1997, a dance group of 40 people visited our town and entertained the inhabitants of the town and the surrounding settlements with their high quality performances. Further cultural links were established with the local artists. In 2001, a gift from the French twin town was presented. The artist Fahdi gave a public sculpture to the town of Nagykőrös.
