Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s-Haaksbergen<\/span><\/b><\/p>

30 September 1990, the first free local elections in Hungary were attended by foreign observers. Dr. G\u00e1bor Dzsingisz, then mayor of Haaksbergen, was delegated to Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s. He was unable to attend because the Queen of the Netherlands appointed him First State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Netherlands on 28 September 1990. He was replaced by two officials from the Haaksbergen Municipality, Dick Sengers and Geusen Leusink, who were presented as mayors of our town on the day of the elections, 30 September 1990. They were later invited to Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s. In March 1991, they were presented to the representatives of the Municipality and the public at a ceremonial meeting of the Municipality. This was followed by the visit of Mayor Van Agt to Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s and the broadening of relations between the Mayor and the Arany J\u00e1nos Reformed High School in Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s etc.\/The signing of the honorary document took place on 7 October 1994 in Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s.The relationship was intense between the Social Home and the Haaksbergen-Hungary Foundation. Donations arrived regularly in Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s. Mayor Istv\u00e1n K\u00f3sa led a delegation to Haaksbergen, where several groups visited factories. In 2001, the runners (then known as BASAFA SE) started planning another big trip. During the planning process, the route and the programme developed into a very nice goal. They will be collecting for the Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s Disabled on the way. They ran the route Espelkamp Aarhus Haaksbergen. Ahaus is the German twin town of Haaksbergen. From Espelkamp the ATSV runners from Espelkamp ran together with the Hungarians. From Ahaus the runners from Ahaus joined in. At the Dutch border the runners from Haaksbergen joined the others. The international team arrived at the main square at 10 pm, where a huge crowd was waiting for them.
