Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s-Salonta<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Tradition, the roots of the name of J\u00e1nos Arany, obliged us to sign the Ikerv\u00e1ros Charter, which was ratified on 22 October 1991 with the then Mayor of Municipality of Greater Salonika Mihoe Matei. The urban cooperation has always been complete with close church ties and the presence of the Arany J\u00e1nos Museum.\nOn 1 March 1992, on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the birth of J\u00e1nos Arany, a bronze statue of J\u00e1nos Arany was unveiled in Nagyszalonta. The statue was created and donated to the town by Istv\u00e1n Kiss, a Kossuth Prize-winning sculptor, who was born in Nagyszalonta. Dr. L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Nov\u00e1k delivered the statue to Nagyszalonta. The unveiling ceremony was attended by. Bertalan Andr\u00e1sfalvy, Minister of Culture of the Hungarian Government, Dr. Mih\u00e1ly Czine and Dr. B\u00e9la G. N\u00e9meth, academics, S\u00e1ndor Cso\u00f3ri, President of the World Federation of Hungarians, Dr. S\u00e1ndor Kulin, Member of Parliament of Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s. Kamilla D\u00e9vai Nagy and Gy\u00f6rgy B\u00e1nffy contributed to the ceremony.\nEvery year, on the birthday of J\u00e1nos Arany, a delegation from Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s visits Nagyszalonta.\nOn the anniversary of J\u00e1nos Arany's death, a ballad competition is organised in Nagyk\u0151r\u00f6s.
